The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off premiere date is confirmed… and it’s coming very soon

After Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off ended on a high last year, fans of the comforting reality series were left cakeless and impatient for the show’s next instalment.

Fortunately, we now know exactly how long we’ll have to wait for Paul, Prue, Sandi and Noel to return to that infamous tent, along with a host of celebrity guests… and actually, it’s not long at all.

Yes, the Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off spectacular will be kicking off its five-episode run on at 8pm. Get those aprons ready, everyone!

But that’s not all – we also know which celebrities out of the mammoth (and impressive) line-up will be featuring in the charity spin-off‘s first episode.

, , and former BBC Breakfast co-host will be the first (un)lucky stars to try their hands at impressing judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

The celebrity bakers will be asked to take on the show’s usual three challenges, and for The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off‘s debut that means cupcakes, a “fiery” technical challenge and a 3D biscuit scene recreating the best day of the contestants’ lives.

So there’s no sign of dumbing it down for charity, then…

Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith Great British Bake Off

Each episode will see Paul and Prue hand over the obligatory Star Baker crown, so it’s worth knowing who else is in the running. Y’know, for the office sweepstakes.

Also taking part in the Stand Up to Cancer special are *deep breath* Alan Carr, Tim Minchin, Joe Lycett, Aisling Bea, Nick Hewer, Perri Kiely, Teri Hatcher, Griff Rhys Jones, Ella Eyre, Kadeena Cox, actual leader of the Scottish Conservatives Ruth Davidson, Jamie Laing, Lee Mack, Stacey Solomon, Melanie Sykes and, last but not least, Ricky Wilson.

We think we’ve earned a slice of cake (or three) after all that.
